Ah, the day of love – it’s either love or hate occasion. For me, it’s an excuse to find the perfect dress for Valentine’s day, get dolled up, and celebrate our loved ones! Whether that be a partner, a group of girlfriends, your dog, or just a night of self-care. Having one day to do nothing other than spend quality time together is far more important than red love heart balloons and cheesy cards. There’s too much anger and negativity in the world. So a day devoted to love is something I’ve always embraced – regardless of my relationship status or if I had a “Valentine.”
The day itself doesn’t need to be a huge extravaganza either. But if you need ideas, I shared 5 Valentine’s Day Date Ideas in this post last year. For Justin and I, our ideal Valentine’s Day is spent at home, cooking a meal together, and watching a good movie. Simply acknowledging the life we’ve built together, with our dog Oliver, of course, is all we need on that day. As much as we love going on a weekend excursion and eating at fancy restaurants, Valentine’s Day is more than expensive gifts or extravagant meals. But, if you’re like me and still like to get dressed up for any occasion, I have found the perfect dress for Valentine’s Day! Plus, more cute outfit ideas! Keep reading

No matter where you’ll be celebrating Valentines, it’s the perfect occasion to dress up. You know me, any excuse to wear a pretty dress and I’m here for it! Cliche as it may be, I dress up for myself on Valentine’s Day. I know that if I feel confident in what I wear, then the evening will be so much more enjoyable. Overdressed is simply not in my vocabulary. So whether it’s a dinner date for two or an evening at a nice restaurant, you can’t go wrong wearing your signature style.
For me, that’s something elegant, feminine and timeless. And this red dress checks all of those boxes. When I saw it on Tuckernuck, I knew I just had to have it. It’s a fun, flowy silhouette, with bow shoulder details and a dropped square neckline for a feminine and flirty touch. The vibrant red shade gives you an immediate confidence-boost – perfect for V-Day! At under $100, it’s not out of my budget either! And with its flirty and flowy design, I know I’ll be wearing this for many occasions to come. Especially in the warmer months.
If you’ve got a favorite pair of shoes, what better day to wear them than Valentine’s? I know I get excited anytime I have an outfit to wear with my Loeffler Randall Penny Knot Slides. (A pair I invested in a while ago because I’m absolutely obsessed!) Then, I accessorize with a mix of affordable jewelry. Like this $15 faux pearl handbag, my everyday rings, and these pearl earrings.
Finally, a fragrance is always my finishing touch. And for Valentine’s, I’m opting for a scent that Justin loves and the one I wore on our wedding day – Love Story by Chloé. How fitting right? I love reserving a fragrance for special occasions. Scents just have a way of tying themselves to memories like that. So, for me, this one always takes me back to precious moments of the day we said “I do.” But each of us have our own memories with fragrance – our own love story. So pick one that means something to you!
If it’s too chilly for you to wear this mini dress, I’ve rounded up more outfit ideas for V-Day. I’m loving this long sleeve, polka-dot number. So classic, elegant, and the perfect dress for Valentine’s Day!
