Wayfair: With warm weather officially here, everyone wants to spend most of their time outside. What do you enjoy doing most when you’re outside getting fresh air?

[Madison]: I am forever inspired by the outdoors, which is reflected in much of my home decor and clothing. I’ve experienced a variety of breathtaking landscapes and exquisite natural settings over the years, but I’m constantly delighted by the color, sounds, textures, and patterns found in my own back yard. I spend as much time as I can outside each day gardening, relaxing, or enjoying my morning coffee. But I also love bringing the outdoors in by incorporating flowers and natural elements into my home this time of year.

Wayfair: What are the top three pieces you like to incorporate in your outdoor space in order to make it feel cozy?

[Madison]: Spring and summer truly don’t require too much decor. But there are a few pieces that are essential for creating the perfect outdoor space: a cozy place to lounge, somewhere to sit and enjoy dinner al fresco or your morning cup of coffee, and a couple of seasonal touches. Don’t forget, spring/summer really make its own style, so you can keep decor easy, without your space feeling undone. Simple florals cut from your own garden, fresh summer linens, and outdoor pillows can pull an outdoor space together in no time.

Wayfair: Moving on to design aesthetics, which color palettes are speaking to you this season?

[Madison]: The prints and fabrics I have been gravitating to this season are mostly botanical-themed or a slightly nautical. Especially in seasonal colors, like blue, pink, and green.

Wayfair: Are there any outdoor design trends that are really standing out to you right now?

[Madison]: I’ve been loving the luxurious outdoor picnic trend lately. I think this would be something so fun and fairly easy to throw together yourself at home. All you’d need are some pillows to sit on, a couple outdoor blankets and linens. Plus if you’ve invested in the right outdoor serving bowls, platters, utensils, and glassware to have on hand, half the work is done for you!
