Our Major Master Bedroom Makeover

The fun part about buying a fixer-upper, is getting to see a total transformation! Although a fixer-upper requires a lot of hard work, time, patience, and money – it has been so rewarding to do this together and see our hard work and vision come to life. The first thing we had to tackle when we bought our house was the master bedroom. As you can see below, it was very dated, felt super crowded and cold. With a little bit of paint, the right furnishings, and some fun wallpaper – we turned this dated/bland bedroom into our very own welcoming oasis. So keep reading to see our major master bedroom makeover!

Here was the before photo from the real estate listing when we purchased the house. We completely redid it from trim, to paint, and everything in between!

I also spy my favorite furniture piece EVER created… the Jane chest from Gabby (one of my favorite vendors! Check out their stunning light fixtures too!) I tell people that if I were a piece of furniture… this would be it. It’s so lovely! From the pretty pale blue paint, brass hardware, and woven drawer faces and details… It’s stunning all around.

Patterns + Prints

There’s no such thing as too much gingham or buffalo in my book y’all. I love mixing patterns and prints to make a space feel fun and fresh. I also added long mirrors above our night stands to bounce more light into the room and make it feel larger.

The Wallpaper of my Dreams

I first saw this Serena and Lily wallpaper at a vendor’s booth during Home + Gift Market in Atlanta – that’s when I fell absolutely in love with it! I purchased 2 rolls of the Priano wallpaper in Sky to do this accent wall in our master bedroom and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. It makes our entire room seem so much bigger and taller! I also love these antiqued brass wall lamps from Wayfair. They were the perfect addition to our space and allow for a lot more tabletop room on our nightstands.

To warm up our room a little bit, I added brass accents and touches of deeper blue. Next on the list is to replace our ceiling fan with something more updated and eventually get rid of the carpet and install hardwood. The DIY list never ends for a fixer upper!
