OUR FAVORITE THINGS TO DO IN CHARLESTON, SC

Sure, Summer 2020 isn’t looking quite like we planned or hoped for. But I know there’s a lot to look forward to once things are safe and back to normal again. So today I want to share a highly requested, small travel guide of The Holy City – one of my absolute FAVORITE places to visit. Here’s a round up of all our favorite things to do in Charleston, South Carolina.

If you follow me on instagram or have read my mini travel guide, then you know how much I adore this charming, southern city. My family and I typically plan a trip to Charleston 2-3 times a year. During our time there, we’ve gotten to know the city very well and have a few things we love to do each time we visit. So if you’re like me and anxiously awaiting/already planning your next trip, keep reading for all the best low-key things to do while visiting Charleston, SC!

TAKING IN THE SIGHTS & Where to shop

Charleston is easily one of the most beautiful and walkable cities in the South. Founded in 1670, this city is full of history and charm. Nestled on the coast with beautiful views of the ocean, defined by it’s undeniable character. With every corner you turn, you’ll soon be greeted by the charm of cobblestone streets, and pastel colored houses (read: mansions), doors, and shutters. That said, one of our favorite things to do in Charleston is to take in all of the sights and wander for hours.

Our favorite area to take a stroll after dinner is near South of Broad and the elegant French Quarter. Here you’ll find Battery Park, Rainbow Row, Philadelphia Alley. views of the ocean as you walk along the pier, and more. Some of my favorite streets for a perfect photo op are Tradd St., Church St., Rainbow Row, and lower Queen St.

And don’t forget to hit up King street and the Charleston City Market for some of the best shopping in town! Pro tip: wear comfy shoes because it’s a lot of walking!

When you think of Charleston, SC, do you think of the beach? We certainly do! A trip to Charleston isn’t complete without at least a few hours spent relaxing in the sun with my toes in the sand. Here’s a list of some of our favorite nearby beaches to visit in Charleston:
