While I love my bright white and cream hues, there’s truly nothing more classic than a trusty #allblackeverything look. So allow me to break down my favorite fall outfit color combination. Although sometimes controversial, I love black and brown together when it’s done right. First let me preface by mentioning that my ideal autumnal outfit will be coordinated, chic, with notes of fall coziness. And second, each item I’m sharing today works as a great separate that can be worn for countless fall looks — work or weekend. So let’s take a closer look, shall we?
First, I’ve paired an absolutely essential sleeveless turtleneck (that I’ll only wear 4,000 times this fall) with a high waisted black slip skirt. Best part? Both pieces are beautiful, elevated basics for fall and offer the perfect amount of stretch and comfort. And of course, they effortlessly compliment each other’s tone and texture. (I love a slip skirt as a cure to bottom-half boredom and to switch up your wardrobe, see how to style a slip skirt here.)
And to bring you full circle to my favorite fall outfit color combination, I’ve added rich brown and toffee-hued accessories. This suede moto jacket is older, but I’ve found a practically identical one for less than $50, which is too good to pass up. A lightweight, yet warm layer like this in an ideal autumn shade is perfect for fall.
Then I’ve added my two new favorite accessories from J.McLaughlin. These suede knee-high boots in Toasted Coconut (which sounds so delicious) and this stunning box clutch in croc and leather. I love the blend of texture and functionality for fall. Paired with these chain hoop earrings from Susan Shaw.
It’s time to start thinking about essentials for autumn, and if I were you, I’d start here! So, will you be trying out my favorite fall outfit color combination this season? Share in the comments below!
