Tons of patterns and prints aren’t exactly prevalent in my wardrobe. I tend to stock up on more neutral/patternless pieces. But houndstooth and plaid have both always been classic patterns that I find myself gravitate to – especially as the temperatures begin to drop. So, today I’m sharing all the must-have houndstooth pieces for fall.
We’ve seen these patterns re-created in a variety of different styles and color ways since it first originated in the early 1800s. And it has consistently returned to the runway each year. I love introducing warm textures and woven/knitted fabrics into my wardrobe during the colder months. So when I stumbled upon these houndstooth pieces – I just couldn’t resist! I just knew I would constantly reach for them time and time again this season.

First up: This little number that is giving me all the feminine, fall vibes. From the sweetest button and bow detail to the chic silhouette. I will be wearing this dress over and over. It’s the perfect transitional dress – whether you’re wearing it to work, date night, or while day-dreaming of walking through Central Park on a crisp, Autumn day (like me). The second houndstooth item on my fall must-have list is the cutest mini flounce skirt I just can’t stop wearing!
Paired with over-the-knee boots or rain boots like this with a trench coat like this for those rainy Fall days, this skirt is going to be on repeat all season long! I am so glad they brought this skirt back again this year! I feel like when a brand brings an item back year after year, it just confirms for me that it’s a staple that I just have to have in my closet!
