Whether midi or mini, patterned or plain, I love having a variety of skirts in my wardrobe for each season. Skirts are great for their endless versatility and opportunities to play with different colors and textures, and really experiment with your wardrobe. For me, there’s simply nothing more effortless than slipping into a skirt I love, paired with my favorite shoes and accessories. However, slip skirts, silk skirts, or satin skirts (whatever you want to call them), present a different challenge. So today I’m sharing details on how to style a slip skirt for fall and beyond!

Solid-colored slip skirts, especially in luxurious fabrics like silk and satin, are one of my favorite skirts to dress up or down. And when figuring out how to style a slip skirt for fall, they often look and function best in a dimensional, layered look. While a silk slip skirt may not be particularly warm, you can add on in layers to create an outfit that is both functional and polished for fall. Try a white tee and a light jacket or cardigan, a turtleneck and a coat with tall boots, or a cashmere sweater tucked in.
The simplicity of a silk slip skirt offers a ton of opportunity to accessorize! I love playing with scarves and hair accessories when wearing a slip skirt for fall. And when the weather is colder, I like to incorporate tights and tall boots to keep warm.
