Blazers and jackets are my go-to layering pieces when the weather begins to cool down. It’s not yet time to reach for my puffer jacket or heavy peacoat, so lighter layers are perfect for fall. Adding a blazer or this trench coat to an outfit immediately gives you a polished, put-together look. Plus, they are so easy to just throw on and go!
No matter the season, my feet stay cold the majority of the time. So tall boots and ankle boots are an essential part of my fall style staples! Boots and flats are very versatile pieces that are easy to interchange with different outfits throughout the season. I love pairing flats like these with denim and classic tall riding boots with my dresses in the fall.
A striped tee-shirt and a chunky knit sweater will never go out of style. Sweaters are one of my favorite parts of cooler weather. I love being cozy, so warm sweaters like this one are truly an essential for me! Patterns and prints seem to be ever-changing with every season, but stripes continue to stand the test of time. The perfect fall-formula for a staple outfit consists of a striped tee or cable sweater, denim, and a light jacket.
Denim is the style staple of every season and fall is no exception. Forget the rule of not wearing white after Labor Day, because that fashion faux pa is long gone. I’ll be wearing these white skinny jeans and classic straight-leg denim all through fall and winter. You can also try colored denim or cullottes! Just like jeans, but with a pop of color or a different style, colored denim and cullottes are definitely on my fall essentials list this season.
I tend to carry the same purse for a long time… Mostly because it gets so full I dread the thought of emptying it out and switching to a new bag! (lol) But this fall, I’m swapping my usual tote for a buttery camel tone bucket bag like this one to match all my seasonal ensembles or a fun print to make a statement. Bucket bags go with every outfit, every season. They also add a very polished, yet casual, feel to a look.
Even though the weather is cooling down doesn’t mean you need to pack up your most-loved jumpsuits and dresses. With just a few quick styling adjustments and layering techniques, your favorite summer dresses and jumpsuits like this can easily be transitioned into fall. Opt for a longer dress or sleeve length like a maxi or midi dress and add a denim jacket or a light sweater over your jumpsuit. Then when the weather gets just too cold for bare legs, add a pair of tights for warmth and style.
Accessories add that little something extra to every look. My fall accessories consist of rich jewel tone colors, tortoise, gold, and lots of plaid! Adding a cozy scarf or statement earrings like these to a look can instantly take your look to the next level! I’m definitely stocking up on both this season.
