Hi there! Allow me to share a little bit about myself and my style & lifestyle blog: Musings by Madison. 

I’m Madison Clevenstine – a northern gal planting roots down South. Married to my dream guy, Justin, & dog momma to our goofy Golden Retriever, Oliver. I have an affinity for details, fresh flowers, my morning cup of coffee, and good lipstick.

In my free time, you might find me covered in ink from calligraphy, paint from watercolor, or dirt from gardening.  Wearing fuzzy socks at home (even in the summer). Rearranging my decor (for the 39250492 time). Buried under a thousand blankets & cozied up on the couch. Or exploring a new city.

I began freelance blogging in 2012. And finally decided to launch something of my own in 2017 in the pursuit of an inspired, well-styled life & home.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I use a Canon Mark 6D iii with either a 50mm f/1.4 or 35mm lens.

My husband takes the majority of my blog photos and the rest are from my sweet momma or taken with my tripod and the Canon Connect app.

Yes! I became a full time style and lifestyle blogger/content creator at the end of 2019.
 
Before going full-time, I worked at a local interior design firm as an interior designer and social media/marketing manager.
 
Out of college, I worked in finance for roughly 3 years. I loved it! But I was craving something more creative – something of my own. Which is when I launched my blog in 2017.
 
And all throughout high-school and college, I worked for the same clothing retailer. I started in the retail store at 16 and eventually worked my way up to their marketing department before taking a job in finance.

For fit or sizing references: I am 5’2 and my measurements are 32-24-32 (bust-waist-hips) with a 28-inch leg inseam.

I get asked about my ethnicity a lot! And it’s a question I am proud to answer each time. I am part Asian (Korean) and Italian.

I’ve loved art and design for as long as I can remember. My family is very artistic/creative. My mom is an interior designer, my uncle is a ceramic artist and was the visual director for Neiman Marcus, everyone in my immediate family can play instruments or draw. I draw, do watercolor, calligraphy and have always loved writing. So you could say creativity has always been in my blood. But it wasn’t until 4 or 5 years ago that I became seriously passionate about interior design. Helping someone make their house feel like a home is truly so rewarding.
