If you follow me on instagram, you may have seen that Justin and I are looking for land to *hopefully* build on soon or a home to renovate. Either way, I’ve pretty much had our future house designed for about a year now – collecting ideas here and there while designing for others or browsing pinterest. We’ve been in our current home for a little over 3 years now and made a TON of updates. (You can find a little bit of here.) It’s cute, cozy and we have the worlds best neighbors. But, we always knew this wouldn’t be our “forever” home. And because of that, I held back when it came to the design aspect. Only allowing myself to apply wallpaper, shiplap, etc. in our master bedroom because I just couldn’t help it! (You can see it here) As we get closer to building a home, I’ve been putting my designs to paper and even impulse-buying some of the items! Recently I ordered this plaid rug from Amazon and this adorable light blue canopy bed from The Home Depot! So today I’m going to show y’all my design for the guest bedroom. A bright, cozy and inviting space to welcome our guests and any family members who will stay with us!

Like I mentioned earlier, I’ve had my future house (whether we buy or build) designed for almost a year now. In classic Madison Type-A fashion, I have 17 page design board presentation for every. single. room. All my selections and finishes are picked out from flooring, paint colors, lighting, hardware, wall coverings, etc. Over-excited, much?! YES! Y’all I’m so ready for my dream home – even if I’m just dreaming! I’ve spent so much time designing client’s dream homes and have longed for the day I can create my own! So, this is the guest bedroom page from my “Home Build Design Board” and a little bit of my inspiration for the space. This space is going to be bright and blue with lots of pattern and crisp white bedding. Let me know what you think!

Here’s what our current master looks like. I fell in love with this light blue Priano wallpaper from Serena and Lily and had to use it somewhere in my home. But in our next house, we will completely re-do the design for our master bedroom. The rooms in our current home don’t really accommodate the space for a king size bed, which we desperately need!! Thanks to me and my need to sleep with 6 pillows at night and mostly sleeping like a starfish. Oh, and our 80lb golden retriever, Oliver, who also loves to sleep with us. Poor Justin. I love you if you’re reading this and I’m sorry for hogging the all the space, the covers, and for my unfortunate sleeping habits. I AM WHO I AM OK!!!
So, now that you know all of that about me…LOL. Would y’all like to see my ideas for our new master bedroom or other spaces in our future, non-existent home? Let me know!
