When it comes to creating a cozy fall tablescape, using fall tones is a must. I wanted to emphasize rich fall hues, like pumpkin/rust orange alongside earthy tones like wheat and greens. To start, I used this pillow as my muse and played off of the colors in it to bring my table setting together. I love the warmth of the floral embroidery against the linen body – perfect for fall and beyond!
with some pumpkins which I set on my table and at each table setting. I also added candles for a nice, warm ambiance. I love the farmhouse look and knew that the overall look would reflect this style.
Natural elements like jute, straw, corn stalks, dried grapevine, and wheat are essentials for fall decorating. Their hues of gold and brown just scream “fall” to me. Especially wheat! I love adding wheat wreaths and bundles into my autumn decor! It gives a cozy fall tablescape such a warm and inviting feel.
Florals bring any tablescape to life, whether you use faux or real. I chose to incorporate a mix of real fall flowers and faux arrangements from Kirkland’s. Like this lantern arrangement and these wheat bundles. I love that I can use them again and again, season after season. Then I picked up some fresh mums and sunflowers from my local nursery! They add such a happy touch, don’t they?!
I love to use a layered assortment of natural elements, pumpkins, mums, and lanterns/decor. To balance each area of your cozy fall tablescape, use something tall in the middle for height and pretend to “stair-step” or scale down your decor around it. And, don’t forget to break up your pumpkins and mums by mixing in decor like a bushel basket or faux stems.
Once the larger or main pieces have their place, it’s time to fill in the remaining space. Here, you can add smaller pumpkins, candle votives, wheat or flower stems! The purpose of working on finishing details last is to create a balance amongst the heavier pieces, while making the space feel complete. As my final step to creating a my cozy fall tablescape, I added these adorable pumpkin napkin rings and small pumpkins as fillers for any empty spaces.
